Argus Analyzers Introduces Battery Bug for the US Automotive Aftermarket & Retail
NEW Battery Bug(R) -- Battery Failure Warning System -- "Never be stranded by battery failure again."
Jamestown, RI - June 1, 2007 -- Argus Analyzers www.argusanalyzers.com announced to the automotive trade today the launch of their newest Battery Bug™ - a failure monitor for starting batteries (part: BB-SBM12). It uses Argus-patented CrankCheck™ technology to test the health of an automotive starting battery at every start and provides a 'replace battery' alert to the motorist before the battery fails from normal aging and use. An LCD display shows battery health and other critical battery information.
"Never be stranded by battery failure again," says Argus Vice President of Sales and Marketing Jim Hamann. "Motorists can now avoid that costly tow or inconvenient battery jump by knowing when to replace their battery BEFORE it leaves them stranded."
The Battery Bug simply mounts to the battery and provides audible alerts and a visual display of battery performance data including: % battery life remaining, voltage, alternator voltage, and a replace battery indication. At every start, the Battery Bug monitor watches the battery's ability to start the engine and, as the battery's performance drops below an acceptable level, an audible alert will signal the motorist that the battery is approaching its end-of-life. This alert sounds for 30 seconds after the vehicle is turned off. Upon visual inspection the Battery Bug also shows voltage and percent remaining battery life displayed between 0% and 100%.
The water-resistant, 2"x2" Battery Bug is designed to weather the corrosive environment under the hood of a car. It installs in minutes with an adjustable wrench and will fit any 12V starting battery.
For the battery retailer, the Battery Bug is a great battery seller. Every time the Battery Bug alerts the motorist of an impending battery failure, a battery sale has been created. "Many progressive retailers are partnering with us to help direct the motorist back to the retailer for a future battery purchase," Hamann says. "Selling the Battery Bug, retailers can increase category margins, retain customers with incentives and increase battery sales velocity. It is a win for the motorist, a win for the retailers with increased sales, and a win for the battery manufacturers with lower warranty returns."
The Battery Bug is packaged for retail sales with high impact, educational graphics and bold feature/benefit statements. The eye-catching package can be pegged for display or sold on the countertop or shelf using the 10pc. masterpack display case.
The Battery Bug -- Battery Failure Warning System (model# BB-SBM12) has an MSRP of $39.95.
